SuSE 9.1 and Adaptec 2100S Controller

I have an Computer with Adaptec 2100S RAID-Controller onboard, also known under "DPT_IO"and 2 SCSI Disks in RAID-Level 1 (mirror), which is supported by my old SuSE 7.3.
But when I now try to install the "new" SuSE 9.1 the Installation fails because of no disk found. The RAID-Driver the System tries to load by itsself seems not to work properly.
Has anyone a workaround for this??

Is there a way to choose the kernal? I know on the Slackware install you can specify 'adaptec.s' for scsi support instead of the default 'bare.i'.

You can choose the scsi-driver for your adapter, but the driver in this distribution seems to be incomatible with this special controller. You can also boot with a different kernel from a boot-disk that you made whithin this distribution, but it seems that this disk has also the same drivers included which are part of the problem.
