I assume you install from packman? Maybe your mirror is not complete. Try to refresh all sources before the installation. Usually, the repositories supply most dependencies. Maybe you can point them out?

Well I think this Suse 10 has a long way to go to be functional. Does anyone know if Xandros pro is any better or is it just a boxed package with the same kind of headaches, have these producers of Linux forgotten that they need to make a working package that the average user can say gee this is as good as Windows, maybe if i live long enough I will try it again in about 5 more years.
I think the Live CD's are further ahead in the way they work, this stuff is sad.

i have this huge problem with dependencies, too. i cannot afford to buy windows and i do not like to copy another persons existing cds. so i am going to use suse10.0 even though i did not manage yet to make everything work. suse9.1 worked better, but didn't look that nice...
regards

After your own analysis of the problem, do you really think another mirror will fix it?
You are either on a very remote location or you do something wrong.
I suggest you describe what you have done previously in very detail and we might be able to help.

Well, if you would install a decent 3rd party package manager (such as Smart) and a lot of the problems would disappear. ... Each to their own as to what they will try, before moving on to something else.
I haven't used Windows since 1998 (on my home desktop PC) but my wife uses it and says its a great Operating System. Mind you she re-installs windows 3x as much as I on SuSE Linux, but hey, ... it works for her. She doesn't mind the re-installs, nor the days of re-installing all her various commercial (relatively expensive) applications. If you like Windows, then stick with it. Dont' change to an other OS just because you want to be cool and try something new.

Which one?
Hi reading all the previoyus posts about the yast installation sources i have some fundamentally questions to ask.
Which one should i select?
How many sources my system must have? If i put more that one sources how the yast selects packages... I am really bored installing new versions of kde using the right sources and after that i have to search for other sources to install the multimedia packages..
For example i need to isntall kde 3.5.1 but dont know where the right sources are i dont know if i should remove the old resources when new lines are added... I am very confused.

Ho do add these repositories in yast gui
Hi guys,
I see these repositories to add but I don't know how. I hit the add button and click on FTP then it opens a box and wants me to enter a server name and a directory on the server.
So where do I add the links that have been posted here? And what do I enter for the server name and dirctory on Server fields?
Using suse 10.0 release.
Thanks!
Harold

These are the links I spoke of in my previous post
The links below are from an earlier post in this forum. How do I add them?
