i am using opensuse 10.2
and want to install diffrent RPM files..
but installing an rpm file takes up to 2 hours..
does anyone now what's wrong..
one rpm should take up to 5 to 10 minutes.
Distribution: Mandriva 2009 X86_64 suse 11.1 X86_64 Centos X86_64 Debian X86_64 Linux MInt 86_64 OS X

Let start with you,re comment that installing open suse takes up to 2 hours.
How did you install it totally from a DVD ?
Or did suse also use the internet for down loading packages , because in that case what is you,re down load speed
Installing rpm from where from you,re DVD or from the internet
How do you install this rpm with yast ?
Last why did you use suse 10.2 suse is now at 10.3
When I install suse 10.3 it rather takes rather a long time mostly because she down load a lot from suses server and my down load speed is only 10 Mbits /second
But now she is installed installing a new firefox for instance 3 minutes.
A other question what is you,re computer speed how much RAM do you have already with suse 9.3 512 MB RAM was recommend
