[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
hiii friends, i am using SUSE 11.0,
In the installation of Network simulation software NS2,
Code:
tar -xvzf ns-allinone-2.33.tar.gz
after extracting i got a file - Readme .
Quote:
3. Installing the package
--------------------------

All you need to do is type "./install" under this directory. The install
script will compile and install the whole package for you. The script also
will tell you the final installation result.
Code:
./install
after that 20min some installation had done.

Now my problem begins here
after that it has given me a suggestion ..

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

(1) You MUST put /home/raju/11/ns-allinone-2.33/otcl-1.13, /home/raju/11/ns-allinone-2.33/lib,
into your LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
If it complains about X libraries, add path to your X libraries
into LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
If you are using csh, you can set it like:
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH <paths>
If you are using sh, you can set it like:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<paths>

(2) You MUST put /home/raju/11/ns-allinone-2.33/tcl8.4.18/library into your TCL_LIBRARY environmental
variable. Otherwise ns/nam will complain during startup.

After these steps, you can now run the ns validation suite with
cd ns-2.33; ./validate

For trouble shooting, please first read ns problems page
http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/ns/ns-problems.html. Also search the ns mailing list archive
for related posts.
i don't know wat to do !!

so i just closed my terminal . can u suggest me ! wat to do !!

..(1)
Add these two lines to ~.bashrc

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/raju/11/ns-allinone-2.33/otcl-1.13
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/raju/11/ns-allinone-2.33/lib

Do the command 'source .bashrc' ... and ...

'cd /home/raju/11/ns-allinone-2.33/ns-2.33'
'./validate'

If "install" = 15 minutes, "validate" runs for an hour or so,
> > " All tests passed" ( On Suse 11.0 )

..(2) Don't know, haven't noticed any problems with 'tcl'.
....
