Yast Walkthrough forthcoming

I'm in the middle of making a walkthrough for upgrading Xine through Yast, one that includes pictures. I'll post a link once it's uploaded.

Why not just use RealPlayer for Linux. Anyway the win32 codecs should enable you to play rm files.

I can play RealPlayer streams using Kaffeine and win32 codecs. You may need to reconfigure Kaffeine and point it to where your win32 codecs are located (in the realplayer codecs section).

Settings -> Xine Engine Parameters -> decoder. There is an option there to enter the path of your RealPlayer codecs. You can point Kaffeine to your win32 codecs directory or the codecs directory of your RealPlayer installation.

I can play all the streams at http://service.real.com/test/ using Kaffeine. It seems like they are ram files. If you have links to rm files, then can you post them here so that I can try them out. Where did you get the win32 codecs and what path are they installed to.

Try using the codecs from mplayers website. Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions if that doesn't work.

No need to apologise because you were just looking for help. Its just puzzling that things work flawlessly on my side but won't work properly for you.

Problems with Smart

Read all of the above. Followed the instructions (i think) but having trouble (whats new)

Smart installs and runs ok. It retrieves a list of packages. They all seem to be there.

I select the new xine packages for installation, and the old ones for un-installation.

It generates a long list of dependancies and associated packages. But.....

When i hit the go button. It complains about not being able to import 'keys' from subkeys.pgp.net
Then stops. Nothing gets installed or uninstalled, and it times out.

????

Hmm...pls help

Cheers Greg
