I am trying to re-install CUPS and updated from the repository. Now I do not have a GUI. How can I get that back? I am running KDE.

Thanks,

What error message do you get? Probably you will need to downgrade your KDE packages back to the previous set that were working for you.

Thanks for your responce. Being new to Linux.
error message that was on the screen when I got back after the update was as follows:

yast got signal 11 at ycp file PackageInstall. ycp:139 /sbin/yast2: line 386: 3658 segmemtatioon fault $ybindir/yzbase $module "$@" "$selected_Gui" $$y2_Geometry $ysQt_ARGS

When I enter kde or any other command for browser it can not be displayed.

If I have to go back, can you give me some assistance?

Thanks for your help.

If you're only able to log in to the command line, what happens when you run startx?

It sounds like one of the packages you downloaded got corrupted during the download. Take a look at http://forums.opensuse.org/applicati...ositories.html for some suggestions of what to try.

We went into yast in command line and resetup the video, which had to be fooled. The Nvidia driver is not available, so we have to use a work around.

It now works fine.

Thanks.
