Zypper Problem

Hi,

After some clash package install, i got error when refresh zypper.
Code:
svr-database:/home/banie # zypper ref
Target initialization failed:
Rpm Exception
svr-database:/home/banie #
Any idea how to fix it? This is production server. Using SLES 11 SP1.

Thanks.

what did you install and from where did you get it from ?

and what repos are installed
Code:
zypper repos
if that is not working
what is listed in the log
/var/log/zypp/history
and
/var/log/zypper.log

as the last few things you did

from the log
"file:///home/SLES11_CD/"
you are using the OLD , very old SELS 11 sp1 cd to install things from ?

but you ALSO have the sp 2 repo installed on sp1 ?
/etc/zypp/repos.d/SLES_Repo_11.2.repo
and have the very incompatible
http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/dis.../repo/oss/suse
Opensuse 11.2 repo installed

You can NOT mix OpenSUSE 11 ( now dead and unsupported ) with SLES 11
they are two VERY VERY different OS's

For SELS 11 sp2 ( SUSE Enterprise Linux Server 11 service pack2 )
SELS sp3 is the current , you might want to install service pack 3 on your sp2 install

you buy the required support contract from Novell
http://www.novell.com/products/howtobuy.html

it is not a free operating system you have to buy it like Windows XP,vista,7 or apple OSX

you can not use the now dead and unsupported OpenSUSE 11.2
-- it went End of life back in "May 12th 2011 " --

they are two very different operating systems that just share a similar name

I don't have authorities to buy SLES 11SP3. Our application also not compatible to new php on SP3.
