zero mp3 playback on 9.3 pro

I've recently installed SUSE 9.3 Professional and cannot, for some reason, get any mp3 playback on amaroK, Juk, XMMS, and so on. But for some other odd reason Real can playback mp3s without any problems.

Also, SUSE was cool enough to pick up my winmodem HSP Micromodem, but can't configure it. Whenever I begin to configure it, it show that it isn't attaching itself to some device like /dev/modem, it's completely blank. And more, it detects another modem as Other Device, and can configure to /dev/modem, but vanishes for some reason. I figure it's the winmodem itself that's being stupid.

Run YOU and install the multimedia packs in order to get mp3 playback.

I don't have an internet connection through linux yet because of my winmodem. Will I be able to get the packs through YaST?

No, without an internet connection you will not be able to download the mutimedia items. They are not located on the disks. They can only be obtained through YOU (Yast Online Update).
