yast sax2 confuses primary and secondary monitors

I tried using sax2 to work my external monitor on my Thinkpad T43 (ATI M300).
It "worked" but made the external monitor (a native 1024x768) the primary display with 1400x1050 resolution (the laptop's native res).

I installed the ATI drivers, and configured it to work through sax, hoping that would take care of the problem.

I once again tried using sax, this time it just displays video mode not supported on the second monitor. I'm 80% sure that's because sax is again trying to make the external secondary, which the driver recognizes as illegal.

Anyway, i'm not sure what to do, i've never had success manually editing xorg.conf, which is part of the reason i switched to SuSE (i'd heard dual monitors was easy).

getting 2 monitors to work is a pain i will give you that. here is my xorg.conf file. I have a Nvidia driver installed my system but the 2nd monitor settings should help you out.
