Yast forgets DNS

Yast (Network Services -> DNS and Host name) has 3 text boxes in which to enter ip address for DNS.
It consistently 'forgets' 2 of them. It seems to take the 3rd one and put it in the first slot and forget the other 2, every few days.

Anyone else have this problem?

What file are these values stored in?

/etc/resolv.conf. Just edit it and set
"nameserver ip.ad.dre.ss" You can use at least 3, but I don't know if there is a limit, per se.

vpn

Thanks.
It appears that every time I start vpn client, resolv.conf gets rewritten.
Does that make any sense?

No, it shouldn't do that. I would suggest then setting it to a read only file, so that damn vpn won't overwrite it. But at least now you know what is causing the DNS loss.

Good idea.
I tried doing that, but it has no effect.
The file gets written over anyway.

Wow... freaky... Well... you could setup a script to run every time you use that client... on closing, overwrites the file with a backup. Or try a different VPN client/version/something.
