xserver screwed up after uninstalling ATi-Driver...

Hello,

After a lot of trouble to get SuSE 10.0 installed properly, on an Armada E500 (PIII 900MHz.), I finaly had my LCD screen working with sax2.
Thought of installing the proper driver from the ATi site.
I installed their driver-installer. After install no config could be made, caused by a seemingly invalid install.
So uninstalled it.
After restarting, even sax2 was not able to start the x-server at all.

Does anyone have a clue which file points at the xorg.conf file?

Well having just tried using the ATI Driver on a ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 and found out it doesnt work, I had to restore my settings.

The ATI Driver copied my original xorg.conf file to xorg.conf.original-0. Try logging in as root and do a "cp xorg.conf.original-0 xorg.conf" and it should restore your original settings. Just reboot.

I thank you for this advice..
In my case it was: xorg.conf.fglrx-0.
It worked..but..
After that, many more mistakes came up.(which had nothing to do with the xserver)
And I was not content with the partitioning after all, so I thought: This is the time to reinstall properly!
And that is what I am doing right now...
