Here is the thing. Does anyone know why suseforums is out of business?
Yesterday the forums were in offline mode , today all i get is this message :
"This domain has just been registered for one of our customers!

I tried 0900GMT all forums were working. By 1200 all of the posts were missing and some
new administrator was claiming the site had been hacked. This is annoying because of all the time people put in answering others questions. Hope it returns soon, but the link in this other thread looks good.
"Late last week, the board got hacked. We've had lots of attacks, and most of the time they don't succeed. This guy was persistent...he kept at it until he beat us. We lost data, and the backups were compromised, so a lot of content is gone.
I ask myself, who would destroy a volunteer discussion board where people spend countless hours helping others? It's very sad, that someone finds more satisfaction in destroying months of this community's work than in building something. I bet our hacker knows enough to be really helpful to others. But he choses to use what he knows for destruction. I'd love to see what someone this talented could build. But we'll probably never know...
We talked about quitting. We knew the membership of our community would be angry with us, for not protecting something so precious as the gift of the community's time and knowledge to each other. We're responsible for that loss, or I am. I didn't give enough. I needed to give more time to this community and I didn't have it available when it mattered. So things slipped through the cracks. I failed you...each member and guest who comes here for help and fraternity.
We've learned some hard lessons. Things are changing on how we run the server. We'll never have the same exposure again. But let's don't kid ourselves...nothing is secure, no server or site is unpenetrable. All we can do is learn from this and fix those things we can, and move on. But we need your help. We can't let people like this win. If we quit, they win. So please, even though you're probably pissed at what happened, please help us fight. Jump in and contribute...ask questions, answer questions, join in the community. Because that's how we win...by never giving up.
