wrong architecture?

Hi,
this is a very strange issue, at least to me. SuSE seems to think I have 64-bit architecture when I do not. This seems to be a new development as of recently, and the only change I made was to install a new driver for my video card. I installed the 32-bit version of the driver by downloading it from the ATI site and using Yast. This is causing all sorts of problems, and I don't have any idea how to proceed. Any thoughts? Do I have to reinstall SuSE? I would obviously love to avoid reinstallation if possible. Thanks.

system specs:
Dell Dimension 5150
Intel P4 630 3.0 GHz
ATI Radeon X300
SuSE 10.0

From what I can tell this is a bug with Yast2 System Update. Since nobody is answering, I can only assume that nobody else knows for sure either. Anyways, my plan for now is to reinstall SuSE on a seperate partition and leave this one alone for a while. Please feel free to interject...

thanks alot.
