Windows 2003 in Xen w/bonus XGL

I have to say I am very pleased with Suse 10.1! Here are some screenshots of win2k3 in a xen server on Suse 10.1. XGL works with XEN as well.

What kind of hardware specs does that computer have? Is there any significant slowdown?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought kernels needed to be modified to run in Xen?

HP nx6310 with t2400 proc and intel 945GM video. This is a laptop.
Any proc with the VT chipset can do hardware virtualization, which doesn't require a change in the guest OS.

For anyone just tuning in, this means windows can run inside of linux, without knowing it is doing so.

As a side note, if anyone has windows guest host networking working with a verizon EVDO card on the host, let me know! :)

Hey that's cool. I was unaware that hardware virtualization had entered the market. Does AMD have the same type of processor?

AMD has the Pacifica virtualization technology, which isn't supported by XEN yet AFAICS.
I love AMD, but I couldn't wait to see windows work in Linux :)

AMD Pacifica and XEN

All,

Do you know if AMD is now compatible with XEN 3.0 for Windows virtualization on a Linux box? If so, what is the exact reference at AMD?

How can I check if an Intel / AMD cpu is Xen-compatible?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,

Vincent
