Will mounting a partition format it?

Hi,
I'm in the middle of installing SuSe 10.1 and it said set mountpoint of /dev/sda1 to /windows/c. Has this formatted the partition, or has it just mounted it? I am really worried now beause it has started installing!

Welcome to LQ!

It should not format it, but I don't know SuSE. That should only create
a mount point named /windows/c where your system will mount the partition
/dev/sda1 when you boot SuSE.

Knowing SuSE, no. I don't think it formats anything by default other than /.
