Why is 'Online Updates" via Yast not working/crashing...???

My 'SuSE updater' works just fine (the system tray applet - for the OS)...but when I try to use the 'Online Update' for my programs via YAST the window closes without applying any patches...this happens via my regular user and with root account as well.

Thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.

Are there any errors being displayed on the screen or anything being saved in the logs?

no error messages....after clicking on Accept the window just closes and no updates/patches are applied....what log should I check/look for?

Try launching YaST2 from the terminal. You may get feedback on the problem. Either a process is still running that shouldn't be, or a lock file (or lock dir) prevents it from running. The YaST modules are java code AFAIK. Is there a problem with java on your system?
