When ever I log in it just resets X-server

When ever I attempt to login with any user other than root it just appears to reset X-Server. I think this might have something to do with the GNOME and KDE login managers being loaded and for some reason both trying to work at the same time, which is beyond me because I have never activated the GNOME manager. I am currently running 9.1 Professional.

The fact that you can login w/root but not users eliminates just about everything except for: (1) File permission issues, (2) Personal settings problems. Check the permissions of all files and directories in your /home folder (especially the hidden ones), and verify that they are indeed correct. If this doesn't help then rename your KDE and Gnome personal hidden directories (.kde, .gnome, gnome2, etc.) and login again to what will then be a default session.
