What's the best way to check 5.1 sound?

Heya. I just bought 5.1 speakers for my SB Audigy card. (not Audigy 2, the original Audigy)

I've hooked them up but can't tell if Unreal Tournament 2004 is taking advantage of 5.1 or not.

I am currently using SuSE Linux 9.1, Nvidia video (v6629), SB Audigy, 1GB RAM.

Just in case, I did buy a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card. Is that a better card for Linux?

Thanks!
