Want to play Mircrosoft Music files

Hello,

Does anybody know of a player to play Microsoft .wma files? I downloaded 9.2 of Suse for the AMD 64 bit processor, and I am having great use with it. If I can find a way to solve this problem, I am staying!!

Regards,

Randy.

Go back into YAST and look for the codecs - I think they are called "win32 codecs" or something similar.

Can't find codex

Hello,

I still am unable to find an codex for this. Do you have Kaffeine working with wmv files? If so, I need a little more specific help.

Regards,

Randy.

Download the codecs from http://packman.links2linux.de/

Kaffeine is a GUI for Xine, so you will need both programs installed. Best thing to do is to de-install the Xine version that comes with SUSE and install the one from the packman site. Then you do not have the restricted version (some legal issues). You may also use MPlayer.

You may add the above site to the Yast installation sources (Change Source of Installation -> Add -> HTTP -> server: packman.iu-bremen.de directory: suse/9.2) and install the required file via Yast. For more details about this option, see the sticky thread about Yast update sources.

If you use xmms, you need the xmms-wma plugin.
