VMWare / GRUB loading Error 18

Hello,

I have a problem to start SUSE 10 after installing it under VMware.
I already had a look in this forum for similar errors but I cannot solve my problem.
The only think I can see at startup is

------------------------
GRUB loading stage 1.5.

GRUB loading please wait...
Error 18

------------------------
and then it hangs.

Can anyone of you help me to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Philipina.

isn't google great?! http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/GRUB#Error_18 so you may have created a dodgy hard drive image, not put boot at the start or something. I thought that that reason was lost in the annals of time now though, and wouldn't be at all relevant. can you boot the VM up into rescue mode and print the partition table on the disk?

My partition had a size of 15Gb, I'm now trying to reinstall with a partition of 8Gb. I will tell you if it's working.

Thanks.
