userdir is not available in apche after upgrading to suse11
 
hello:

I upgraded to suse 11 from suse 10. after the upgrade i cannot get the user directory //server/~user under apache. according to my httpd.conf the mod.userdir is loaded.


any ideas?

I assume by this you mean there is a line in http.conf that looks something like;

Include /etc/apache2/mod_userdir.conf
I ask because when I installed 10.2 (I know you're on 11) the module was loaded, but for some reason the Include (I think it was this one - I really should write these things down :)) was missing.

I found the problem in mod_userdir.conf

there is a statement explicitlu s[eicfying user dir

UserDir public_html

thos was commented out. I uncommented that and everything works
