Upgrade of SLED 10 SP1 to OpenSuse 10.3?
 

Has anybody tried upgrading from SLED 10 SP1 to OpenSuse 10.3?

I have run opensuse 10.3 on my laptop for a few weeks and so far it works amazingly well. No problems with anything, and I have been fiddling with it a lot.

SLED 10 SP1 on my desktop on the other hand I am not so happy with. It has a lot things that are broken and I find myself spending more time chasing misconfigurations and fixing things than getting work done.

Hence, my question. The upgrade I did on the laptop from opensuse 10.2 to 10.3 went like running water. And a lot of things that were not not in order got fixed up in the process.

So, maybe going from SLED 10 SP1 to OpenSuse 10.3 without losing anything could work? Or not?

I would appreciate any shared experience on the matter.:D

I have not tried it myself (I don't use SLED/SLES), but upgrading from SLED 10 to openSUSE 10.3 should work without you losing anything (although you should always backup important data) since SLED 10 is based on openSUSE 10.1.
