Unknown VIA SouthBridge, disabling DMA
I've tried many times to get SUSE installed, adjusted my bios, everything.
But I keep getting the following error when I tell it to install, and just before it gets to the icon with the PCI-card picture, it says something about having no hard drive, or CD drive.
I'm very new to linux and only know the basic commands.
I pushed Alt-Ctrl-F3 and it said: Unknown VIA SouthBridge, disabling DMA, somewhere near the bottom, I assume this isn't good, I'm also thinking it's the cause of not finding any of my drives (it finds my External Hard drive).
I've tried Loading Modules, all the VIA ones I can see including the SATA one.
There seems to be a few patches for Red Hat for this problem, and they look very complicated. Is there anything for Suse?
I'm using a VIA chipset (obviously).
A SATA Hard Drive.
A IDE DVD Drive.
P4 3.2Ghz.
1 GB Ram.
and a GeForce 7300 GS.
Thanks.
