Uninstalling Suse Linux 10.0

Hello everybody

I have installed suse Linux 10.0 on my system with dual boot with windows. my 4 partitions were initially for windows. I had 17.6 GB of free space so I installed Suse Linux 10.0 on it. my default boot loader is GRUB. At present everything works perfectly.

My problem is that I want to uninstall Linux totally with my windows remaining intact so that I can boot my windows like before. Last time in order to uninstall Linux, I logged on to Windows n used Partition Magic n I directly deleted linux partition. I could remove linux successfully by this method but as I restarted my PC, just a grub boot prompt comes n i dont know how to boot windows as it doesnt gives any options.I had to reinstall ny windows to solve it.

so plz tell me is there any way out so that i can remove linux from my sysytem so that it boots windows successfully without showing Grub.

Plz help me

Why is this in the kernel forum? :/.

In any case, you just need to delete your Linux partition(s) and as for GRUB, just rewrite your MBR with Windows' bootloader. You can do this with booting from the CD, accessing the recovery console and then entering "fixmbr". This is for XP, if you're using a different version of Windows, the command may be different. Google is your friend..

Uninstalling Suse Linux 10.0

Hey Nylex thnx a lot 4 ur reply

hey I got ur solution. One small doubt is still there that when we insert Windows XP CD and boot just in the starting it asks us to press a key is we want to run recover console if we let it go n dont press any key at this instant then after loading some basic things it asks 3 options

1 u want to install afresh copy of windos XP

2 u want to repair windows XP

3 to run automated system recovery

My confusion is whether I should recovery in the shear begining or from the choices given after some time. I know this is a very small problem but still, I would be thankful to if u could clear it out .

waiting for ur reply
bye

Why don't you just press the key when it asks if you want to use the recovery console?
