Unable to get desired Resolution.

iverecently just installed suse 10.1 from DVD and im having a bit of trouble with my desktop resolution.

i currently own a 19" TFT monitor that can run in up to 1280x1024 natviley, and this is the resolution i would like. however, the max resultion suse seems to want to go up to is 1280x900, which is very annoying because there are large black bars above and below my desktop, widescreen style. sax2 doesnt seem to want to do anything at all and desktop settings doesnt display anything larger than 1280x900.

anyone know any useful information that would help?

thanks.

you could try editing the xorg.config file maunaly
in the screen section

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1600x1200" "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection

find something that looks like this and change the Modes section to 1280 X 1024 for the first mode

hope this helps
