Howdy Welcome..

First off check this thread out:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=470871

And check the guide that it provides.. it will help you set up repositories to install xine for totem and mplayer if you wish.

Add packman as a repository..

Read the guide I posted above..

Once you have set it up as a repository, you will then search for w32codecs within Software Manager (in YaST) and check it for installatoin..

Once that's checked then it will resolve dependincies and you'll be set to go..

Read the guide above.. it'll tell you how to do it, and give you a better explination on software installation via YaST

still not sure what a repository is or how to add it to software manager in yast2, read the guide again and i can't find where it explains any of this - only adding applications in yast, i found the site "packman" as links2linux.org and found the codecs - looking to find how to add this as a repository to yast?
thanks,
dave
