(too) large fonts in OpenSuse 10.2

Since installing 10.2 (fresh install) I am having weird issues with a number of programs. They seem to work properly but have extremely large font sizes. A common feature seems to be that they are Tcl/Tk or Python/Tk programs. Did any see this before, or have any ideas on fixing this?
