Wink The beagle has beaten me :( in 9.3

Could some fine gentlemen/suser guru who has been able to effectively get beagle to work please post a fairly detailed how-to on the subject.

I have :
installed the package .008 beagle and dependencies (as far as I can tell) from suse that come with suse 9.3

installed mono-data as this apparently was not included

checked my attributes were set in my fstab -they seemed to be correct already.

I tried adding the lines found here http//beaglewiki.org/index.php/SuseInstall
to my .xinitrc.template in home/user

So far I have been able to get the daemon running by doing
dasb00ter@fatboy:~> dbus-launch --auto-syntax

than copying and pasting the output in the console eg.
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS='unix:abstract=/tmp/dbus-xLBXfN6EBz'
export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_PID=15258

then I run dasb00ter@fatboy:~>beagled

I have to go through all of the above because if I just do beagled than when I do
dasb00ter@fatboy:~>beagle-status
I get error: Couldn't connect to the d-bus session or something like that.

Anyways having done the above in its proper order I than do beagle-status and I do get and output like next task in: 4.09 seconds and a crawler apparently going through my home directory. After awhile beagle-status shows another error something about no connection within a specified time.

I then run dasb00ter@fatboy:~>best
and search for something but the output is only: cannot connect to d-bus session and I think once I got it to complain about a missing mono file which I am pretty sure I have.

Maybe somebody can make an rpm or let me know where I can find one that for sure includes all the dependent packages?

If it sounds like I have all the dependent packages that what am I doing wrong?

Lastly if beagle ran just nicely for you without any problems than thats really nice for you. Perhaps, you can use it to find a detailed how-to on how to get this thing running for those of us who cant

First off:

I tried to get Beagle running in the "usual" way - installing it + dependencies, etc, couldn't, and then looked at the Beagle wiki online and realized that I had a whole lot more stuff to do.

Then I realized that Beagle's an alpha release, so I think I'm just going to wait until Suse 9.4 or something along those lines.

Sorry I couldn't help.

Smile

well thanks for the bump anyways

Still I have read several threads in a few seperate places that seem to show similiar problems and solutions to those problems. I just cant seem to make it work though I think I am fairly close as I can get the crawler moving. Anyone suggest another forum that might provide a little more feedback.

well actually this reply isn't at any help at all
but when i installed suse 9.3 beagle worked fine(perfect app, just perfect)
except when i installed a patch to the kernel it didn't want to work
(or was it cause of the glibc update?nah i don't think so..)
