Suse10.1 - USB automount

Hello,

I have update my Suse 10.0 to 10.1 (64 bit version). Now I have seen that the automounting seems to has changed. Is Subfs still uses? Where and howe can I change mounting options (e.g. characterset used?). There are no enries in the fstab file.
Is there a good tutorial available which automount system is used and how it works?

Thanks.

RGummi

I'm looking for the same thing. I want my ipod to automount and then open with banshee. It used to do this until I compiled new kernel. cds/dvds still automount though. I think this is controlled by udev but I'm not sure. Found this:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/util...tplug/udev-FAQ

I'll have a read through and let you know if I get it solved.

update: It's not udev it's HAL.

The behavior is set in /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/
HAL documentation is at:
http://webcvs.freedesktop.org/hal/ha...c.html?view=co

update: Mine seems to be a kernel problem. Automount works with default kernel. So I guess there must be a missing module on my home made kernel?

Hello,

thanks! I have removed the

<append key="volume.mount.valid_options" type="strlist">utf8</append>

line under the vfat section in 20-storage-methods.fdi (I do not use utf8 due to problems with some applications), and now it works fine
