Suse Newbie partition location

I am new to Lenix and SUSE. Last night I bought a 250 GB external hard drive and I made 3 partitions and my plans was to install SUSE 10 on a 20 GB partition. However I did not get a option on what drive to install it to. It seems to have made it own partition. How can I tell for sure what HD my partition came from.Seems like the installation was a success I just dont know were its installed at

as root, type fdisk -l and post it

Hi,

I think in OpenSuse you have to choose expert / custom partitioning to get more control over the partitioning scheme.

Look at the file /etc/fstab where the partitions are listed in the Linux way. /dev/hda would be your primary master on the IDE bus /dev/sda the first external (or rather SCSI) device.
