SUSE E.S. Install Hangs
Hi all,
I am installing SUSE Enterprise Server on a Poweredge 1300 with a RAID5 array. I boot with CD1 and select installation. It goes along a bit and then it asks for the driver diskette for the RAID drivers (module 2) which I made and they seem to load fine. It then moves on to where it runs through how it will partition the drives and lists the rest of the hardware like KB, mouse, partition sizes, etc but says that there is an error that needs to be corrected before I can continue.
The only error in the list is that it cannot read media (with a question mark) for additional software. Details on the packages waiting to be installed shows none. Thinking this software may be on CD2 I try to put that in but the drive won't open. I backed out of the installer (not all the way) and tried the install again but it hangs endlessly mounting the CDROM.
Is there some way the RAID drivers are killing the CDROM drivers? I also noticed that after it installs the RAID drivers the installer seems to keep looking to the floppy for files as opposed to the CDROM drive. I really don't think it is a bad CD issue.
TIA,
