Suse 9.2 Q - Scanner - Epson 2480
 
Could someone please tell me what I have to do to get the above mention scanner to work with SuSE9.2....???...please!
I've been trying this for three days...no luck...what am I missing?

Usually, support for Epson scanners is quite good in Linux. Have a look at www.sane-project.org for more info:

The tricky part is to get the firmware in place (took me several week to realize that this file is needed). You can extract the file (esfw41.bin) from the windows driver and place it somewhere on your Linux system. Then add the path to the firmware to /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf (don't remember it this is the correct config file, I'm on windows right now).

have you tried updating your version of suse, new versions tend to have more drivers included. or you can just update sane, both should work.
