You can't download 9.2 CD ISO's except maybe some older beta or ripped versions. The official way of getting 9.2 without DVD is to download the mini-installation ISO and install it from FTP. Another way is to download the whole FTP tree and deposit it on a local disk, then boot from the mini ISO and use the local source.

is there a faster way to download the whole "FTP tree" other than clicking on each individual download link? or are we talking about something else?

Use any FTP client and copy everything under 9.2. Sounds like you are using a browser?! Be aware that this is a huge amount of software and sources (14,8 GB). Maybe you want to skip the src and ix86_64 subdirectories.

Still enjoying to talk to yourself, btw? This is no chat, you should give people a little more time than 1 minute.

You may use konqueror as ftp client. Simply type the url in the 'Location' field and see what happens. You can copy the folders by drag&drop.

And yes, it will most probably work without src and ix86_64 (the later only if you have a 32bit system), since these packages are not installed by default.

Hmm, tried google ?

FTP is a network protocol for file transfer. A FTP client uses this protocol to copy files from a remote location to your local disk. A browser usually uses the http protocol to display webpages. But since they want to make browser as flexible as possible, they added the FTP protocol. That is why you are able to download from FTP servers with your browser. This is fine as long as you want to download just a single file, but when it comes to larger structures, the FTP client offers more functionality because it was made for this purpose. You can also use many FTP clients to view files on the server, but this is not what it is made for and it will work better with a browser.
