I know this subject is in other threads, sorry 'bout that.
Anyhow, I switched from mandrake 10.1 to Suse 9.2 (major hardware problems).
I've managed to install all the goodies I need without any major problems, although finding java in Suse is a b@tch, but now I'm stuck with Amule.
Suse 9.2 has wxgtk 2.5.2.8-3 installed. Amule needs 2.4 or something, therefore it's stuck on dependencies when I try to install the RPM.
Removing the original Wxgtk and replacing with the older version isn't an option for me (and I'm not the only one) . So I basically need an RPM which uses the 2.5.2.8-3 wxGTK Suse has.
I installed wxGTK-devel 2.4.2, old gtk and glib devel and wxBase and got rid of most dependencies issues but wxlib_gtk-2.4.so.0 I have wxlib_gtk-2.4.so in usr/lib but it 0 size and unaccessible. If you find a version which works with SuSE 9.2 installed packages please let me know.
What I don't understand is that those fine people from amule.org give out an rpm which uses the 2.4.2 wxGTK packages. Suse 9.2 comes standard with the 2.5.2.8 wxGTK (as far as I know).
If I could I would build the RPM myself)
Someone must have had the same problem and fixed it.
It should work, because it has been build for SuSE 9.2. I am using it myself.
I don't know if you'll come across dependency problems. I never do because I use apt4rpm.
btw, I did try the file you suggested earlier today, it had more dependency conflicts than aMule-2.0.0rc8-1.i586-SuSE_9.2.rpm, although both are made for SuSE 9.2
well, i've got it... though it does not help. anyway, I am using kmldonkey, and it works ok so far. I just want to try an alternative. I managed to install either xmule or amule before i had to re-install suse, and it worked fine.
