I just looked in another thread for SATA Raid configurations.

I need some opinions. I want to buy this server:

in this configuration:

PRIMERGY Econel 200 2X XE-2.8 - 2x Xeon 2.8GHz/1MB, 1GB (2x 512MB) DDR-SDRAM ECC, 2x 160GB SATA Festplatte, onboard RAID 0/1, DVD-ROM, FDD, 8MB ATI Grafik, Gigabit LAN onboard, 5x PCI, Floorstand Gehäuse inkl. Tastatur/Maus

I want to install Suse 9.1 on the raid controller(mirrored RAID). I saw on fujitsu site that there are drivers and stuff, but I also read on some forums about a lot of problems with SATA and SATA RAID installation of Suse Linux.

Anyone experienced it?

My main question is: WILL IT WORK? That's my target, even if it is difficult to install. But the thing is that it HAS to be done.

I'm still semi-new to Linux, but I'll share my experience on this anyway. I have not been able to install SuSE 9.1 on a SATA drive. It just never detects it during initial install. However, after installing SuSE on a IDE drive and running YOU to update things, SuSE detects my SATA drive which is now being used as a shared drive between Win2K and Linux.

This is about a Fujistu Server, I saw on their website that there are some drivers for the controller also for Suse 9.1. We decided to buy it, I still hope it will work, but I will tell you exactly next week.
