Sorry, I was replying to the previous question, which was not related to your problem (I guess). It seems like you are still in the installation mode (nowhere else you get into language selection). Are you sure you are not booting from CD?

yeah i dont even have a cd its on the first screen where you can choose how linux starts in the safe mode type thing or just regular linux

i got it past that first problem now but can someone help me get past the next things loading now it wont let the sound card or ssh start

It is often best to start a new thread when you finish one problem and move on to another. This is particularly true if somebody else started the thread. I'd recommend starting a new thread.

That said, I won't be callous and ignore the question. The place in SuSE to configure these things is in YaST (Yet another Setup Tool). Do you know what sound card you have? If not, try typing "lscpi" from the console.

Is your internet connection up and running? Do you mean the ssh client or the ssh server (are you trying to connect from your computer or to it)?

im actually giving up on suse because through some friends im tryin to find the best distro of linux for music production
