suse 10: ndiswrapper using wlan dongle makes key responses slow
WLan USB dongle: A-link
I am trying to use this WLan card, although vendor provided Linux drivers but for old Kernel versions and thus those drivers could not be compiled on Suse 10.0.
Therefore I use ndiswrapper. WLan card gets working but all key responses gets extremely slow even for login.
- I rebooted as runlevel 1 to see if problem is only with KDE, but its not. Key responses are slow even for runlevel 1, i.e. when KDE is not running.
- I tried ndiswrapper -e <driver name> to unload the drivers but it didn't make any difference.
- I tried modprobe -r ndiswrapper to unload ndiswrapper module and as soon as command succeeds, key responses get fine. So problem is with ndiswrapper, not the drivers?
- Similarly as soon as I remove the card from USB, key responses get fine.
- Drivers i use with ndiswrapper are WinXP drivers. I wonder if I should try Win2000 drivers?
Please make your guesses even if you dont have the right idea. I am stuck cause its not distro or KDE specific problem, so it doesn't help if i reinstall distro.
