Suse 10.0install woes

Hi all..
I recently downloaded the 5 iso's and installed 10.0(i386) on my computer..Love th install feature to offer to check the media(md5sums)..Nice feature..The install went without a hitch
"EXCEPT"when it got to my network card..I use the tulip driver for the in past versions from 8.2 including the boxed 9.0 and the FTP install 9.2..When it came to update the system, there was no internet..of course..
I usually use DHCP but I tried static settings and nothing I tried would connect..I think the wording was 'error finding the host"..No way could I get online using all the wizards I could find..
Any way I decided to DL the boot iso and try an FTP install..The problem is that when I tried to add my NIC module it said it was already installed but possibly there was the problem..It refused my manually installing one..I then tried the boot iso for 9.3 and it loaded my NIC module without a hitch..I then went to the first cd.iso and decided to use the install feature and see if I could manually install the NIC card from there..It accepted the card so i went on into the install and later the same thing happened when the installer tested the internet connection."It failed"
One other minor point is that 10.0 would not configure my printe,HP810 ..
That is for another time though..
Has anyone else had networking problems?
I am on a 4port router(linksys)connected to my cable modem and never had problems B4..
Any suggestions how to get it going?
Thanks for reading this post..

My 10.0 observations so Far:
1 nice feature for the media check
2 When the installer lets you choose the WDM if you click KDE you can't also choose Gnome
3 My network card is not working DFE 503TX (D-Link)
4 HP printer on the parallel port seen but will not print no matter which driver I choose..
5 thats all i can comment on now..
Worked so far:
1Found my MB P4p800
2 Found my video card FX5600
3 Found my onboard sound..

1) Yes, it is very nice, isn't it?
2) You can't choose KDE and gnome because you are choosing a single default, you can install as many Desktop enviroments later as you want. But you have to pick which one you want as your default.
3) Normally I would say this "You may have to fiddle with that some. Sometimes you have to try setting a gateway, putting in DNS and Domain server, etc. It should work, but it might take fiddling." But oddly enough I had a tulip card that for the life of me, wouldn't recognize anything at all. I finally had to switch it for a realtek 8139too. So in essence, no, I couldn't get it no matter what I did with that tulip, but the second I switched cards, it went perfectly.
4) What are showing in the print logs? Are you communicating with the printer at al?

Thanks Redshirt,
I have used this NICcard for various versions of Suse from 8.0 to 9.2 on this system, as well as Fedora and the latest Mandrake/mandriva whatever it called now and for Debian/sarge and all seemed to network just fine..I really think it's in the installer module for 10.0 but don't know enough about networking
to be able to work around it.. Strange about your Tulip card...My printer does not have my full effort at the moment as the internet is the first order of business..I have previously used Cups but now not on the internet
stops that as well as any patches..
What I use is a Harddrive rack where I can change drives/systems in a flash..
BTW previously suse used let me choose more than one WDM..I have always in the past
selected both KDE and Gnome ..This time selected Gnome first (by accident) and then later had to add KDE..No big deal but less convenient in 10.0..
I am reading about Networking trying to figure out how to get online..
ifconfig,routing,nameservers, etc..
any suggestions would be gratefully accepted..
