I have been trying to install 10.2 to a 40gig logical partition. I get the blue screen and it has a black box in the top left corner and if i press a key it goes to a black screen that says boot: type linux to install and other options like failsafe. I type it in and it appears to load and does a .... thing then reboots. I know the dvd is good because i can install it on vmware but cant get it to boot install.
Personally I don't think its wise to use the 10.3 alpha. I have been testing it for a while and things are constantly breaking. If you are not a developer or don't intend to participate in fixing bugs, then I recommend that you do not install it.

Have you tried the install at a lower screen resolution? It's just a hunch but sometimes video cards can't display at max resolution during install. I can't remember the key, it's one of the F keys, but look at the bottom of your screen just before you install and you will see an F key with your screen resolution beside it. Press that key and lower the screen resolution and give it another try. You can also try one of the other options, rather than the default install, if that doesn't work.
BTW, I agree with reddaz. Unless you're ready to help with the bug cleaning don't install 10.3 on your system. Not sure what problems TigerLinux had with 10.2, but I'm using it and it works great! I don't think 10.2 was "unfit to be released" or it wouldn't have been, IMHO.

I run 10.1 on my laptop and 10.2 on my desktop. Other than updater issues both work fine.
The first question to Freedom420 is "What are your computer specs?".
It seems at first glance that there is a video issue.
I got it to work by turning off all motherboard features, all chasing and video reduced and i turned off the smart hard-drive feature. Anyways got the dual boot setup and working great, thx for all your help!
