Suse 10.1 - Online Update
 

Hello,

can anyone tell me how the online update in Suse 10.1 works. I have tried it several times and there is always a stupid browser windows with user/pass. I don't want to register for simple updates! Any way to get it the hard way (manually)?

Yes! YaST online update.
Ok, I have tried it with a user account and now it seems to work, but I can not choose the server from which the download is done!
But I Can not give a user/pass at every machine!

The updater on SuSE v10.1 (at least when I tried it) was just plain broken and I went back to v10.0

I've tried it and it runs fine. You'll probably need to run it as root though to avoid passwords and such.
