I prefer the old type of start menu style, it is easier to find the items you want.

whatever needs to be upgraded, i did it manually in 10.1, the firefox is 2.0, flash player is 9.0, other applications are not critical to have newer versions.
So,10.1 is just perfect for me!

I reckon 10.0 was the best suse ever.
A lot of poeple (like me) just upgrade for the sake of having the latest stuff. If 10.1 is perfect for you then you do right sticking with it.

i have the DVD for 10.0,10.1,9.3, all had been tried, 10.2 is crap, 10.3 alpha 1 is fine.
currently i am running 10.1 from my notebook, not intend to upgrade yet.
i download tarballs of firefox etc.. to install in separate folder to have the latest version of firefox, got all plugins and addons, everything is fine!

I agree.

10.1 was frustrating because of the broken installation/update stuff: YAST update was totally crap and the newly introduced ZEN updater was not suitable for a stable release! In 10.2 the YAST update has been fixed.
Personally, I like the new start menu. Anyway, to have chance to switch back to the old KDE style menu is fine. The ZEN updater is quite unuseful in my opinion (but it can be uninstalled): I think it is an attempt to emulate Windows Update, maybe to make new linux users feel like they can do things the same way!

I have not tried 10.3 alpha 1, yet. However, after your positive opinion I am really curious: which are the improvements you noticed, TigerLinux?

It's easy to break things. I have 10.0
I removed the hostname in the network settings part because I was following some instructions on the web, and then boot up and shut become very slow.

apache stopped working or something. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Tried to delete the folders. Doesn't work anymore.
Reinstall is not able to repair it.

I'm downloading 10.2 to see what has changed.

TigerLinux - https://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/blog/ is what you are after. Every LQ member has their own blog space. This sort of thread is just noise.
