SuSE 10.0 sound problem in games

To start, here is my sound card info:

kris@localhost:~> cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [V8235 ]: VIA8233 - VIA 8235
VIA 8235 with ALC650E at 0xe000, irq 5

Problem:

I have sound just fine - except for in games. It is really odd though, because if I have Win4Lin Pro 2.0 running with Windows 2000 Pro on it, my host SuSE OS sound works find in games. If I close the virtual Windows, the sound doesn't work in games.

Does anyone have any idea why and how this is happening?

After running through multiple places to find an answer, I figured it out myself.

I saw in some console messages that artswrapper could not be enabled or didn't exist.

I solved that by installing arts:

yast -i arts

Then I logged out, and logged back in and wallaaaa! The sound works...
