SuSE 10.0 + Raid giving this Newb trouble.

I have searched around the forums and other online sources but have found nothing to help me. I am new to the world of linux - SuSE 10.0 so would be very grateful for any info. Here is what I am trying to do:

Build a new machines with SuSE 10.0 OS with a raid 5. Here is the problem, I have a separate 200 SATA HD that I have installed SuSE on, I have connected the raid controller and it boots great UNTIL I hook the 4 400 SATA gig drives to the raid controller. Then I get Boot failure, PXE errors, and it seems it can not load grub.

I have checked the drives for errors, these seem fine. I have also tried the latest drivers from 3ware. I can plug the each of the raid drives in to the SATA connection on the board and each in turn works fine as well, all allow the main drive to be booted from. It is only when I plug 1 or all drives into the controller that I can not boot.

Setup is:
ASUS A7N8X-E Board
8506-8 3Ware Escalade
Seagate 200gig
Seagate 400gig x 4

Thank you for any help.

Don Graham
