subdomain is needed by apparmor.
If you don't use apparmor, you may disable subdomain.

Since you've done such a great efford to provide the 'mount lecture', I will try my best to help.

I guess you simply forgot to specify the filesystem (the -t option). I tried to reproduce it and got the same lecture. This is somehow funny: I can remember many typos after which the mount command has been far less talkative to me. Try the following command:

sudo mount -t iso9660 /windows/H/SUSE-10.0-CD-i386-GM-CD4.iso ./myfolder -o loop

I am not sure how familiar you are meanwhile with the command-line. The dot in from of /myfolder points to the current directory. If you are unsure about the relative path, try with the absolute path (e.g. /home/<user>/myfolder).

I didn't forget 'to specify the file system' so much as not have a clue what I was doing.

I tried the command you said and the cursor whent to the next line does that mean it worked?
Then I looked for 'myfolder' in the home directory but I cannot find it.
Having gone out of linux does that mean it will still be mounted when I go back into linux?

I would guess so.

This is a little strange. The folder should be where you created it previously. Folders usually don't disappear unless you delete them.

One critical issue could be the location of the ISO file. Sometimes Linux acts a little strange if a file is on a Windows partition. If you really want to get this going, I suggest you copy the ISO to a Linux partition and keep the correct paths in mind. A very nice trick is to use TAB-completion: start typing the path (some letters) and press TAB. If the respective file/folder exists, Linux will fill-out the rest for you. Forget about the ./myfolder-thing and use the absolute paths to both the ISO and the mountpoint.

The command-line may appear a little frightening in the beginning, but it may become your best friend in a while.

Good luck!
