stopped my suse10.1 under gaussian calculation

I have been calculating molecular structures using the 32bit gaussian program(quantum chemistry program) in 64bit suse10.1. But frequently the suse10.1 stopped in process of gaussian calculation with no reason. After rebooting it functions normally. Why?
