Standard Server 8 Samba

Greetings
I switched my home server from RH9 to SuSE Server 8 (Had a copy laying around form a Novell conference, thought i should put it to use). The problem is, Server 8's default Samba configuration is inter-dependent with LDAP. I refuse to use LDAP, i find it useless, especially in a small home network. Any ideas on how to fix this, or a work-around. I would prefer to remove LDAP altogether......THX if anyone can help.

You could download and install samba from source. That way you can configure it the way you want.

Greetings.
Tried it. SuSE refuses to install the package.

You did ./configure....;make;make install?

Any error messages?

Greetings.
Yes, and at the make install, SUSE refuses to install the package.
