sound problem under suse 10.1


Hello,

Configuration:

SuSE 10.1
XPC SB95V2
KDE

snd 56708 6 snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer
snd_page_alloc 13576 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm
soundcore 13024 1 snd

Sound card: (lspci | grep Audio)

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04)

Alsamixer configured: unmuted all right channels

Alsaconf: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW High Definition Audio Controller; test sound plays fine

YaST: cannot edit sound volumes, it exits; deleting sound card configuration has no effect

I have no sound in KDE.

Which version of ALSA are you using? Have you tried to upgrade it?
The snd_hda_intel sound card is creating problems to many many users

The "cute" thing is that i can play sounds:
- Control Center > Sound & Multimedia > Sound System > Test Sound (with OSS works. with ALSA not)
- sometimes with gnome-sound-recorder
