SMTP_Daemon is missing in SuSE10.2
When running "repair" from the 10.2 DVD, I get some odd behaviour.
(1) "Checking fstab entries" comes up with "Omitted" in big, red, unfriendly letters. Why? (2) When checking the installed software, it says it can't find smtp_daemon. I select it to be installed. It then fails to install the missing software - twice. Checking later in YAST (software management), I can't find the offending package either. These are the problems I noticed today but in a previous run a couple of months ago I was presented with a couple of things which needed fixing. I selected for the system to go ahead with the repair but it came back and said I'd chosen to skip the repair. Sorry I can't be more precise but I didn't get a chance to repeat the experiment this time. My recollection is that one of these failures involved trying to fix an fstab problem. Could this have been carried forward somehow to produce problem (1) above? :study: |
