SMP on Dual Opteron MSI KT Master2 mobo

The problem here is quite simple...

v9.0 - Detects both processers and installs OKish (Some I/O quirks)
v9.1 - Detects only one processor
v9.2 - Ditto

The v9.0 works fine as a backend server managed from a second box, but keyboard and mouse quirks on make direct working unsatisfactory.

What I would like to know is if anyone knows of a way to force a SMP based install on this mobo.

Thinking of installing then switching to SMP kernel but before I tear what little hair I have left out with this experiment has anyone tried this (and with what results)....
