Slow javascript in firefox

When I browse using firefox, I've taken to disabling javascript in order to get pages to load. A good example is the New York Times. When I browse with javascript turned on, I get a "Waiting for s0b.bluestreak.com" which takes a long time to load. In contrast, when javascript is turned off, the page loads very quickly. I searched for a solution but have not found anything other than turning off IPv6 which I have done. This doesn't happen just with the New York Times. It happens with many websites and the only solution I've found is to entirely turn off javascript. What's going on?

i second that. I have sometimes had issues with Firefox and javascript. Ive chalked it up to buggy or messy javascript coding, but i dont know that for a fact.

In one situation i used Firefox while using Unicenter helpdesk center, and noticed that the javascript wouldnt load correctly at all when I would click on a button. However since uprading from 1.0pre to 1.0, its been working.

I like firefox, but I have been having having problems too... I have opted to use Konquerer to run Java under Suse 9.2. It's good to have options
